Please read below message from Travis Elwood, Director of Facility Services, regarding the Bussing issues we’re facing at the beginning of the new school year.
Make sure to hand in 2017-2018 Bus Registration Forms as soon as possible, to ensure that we know how many students need a seat on the bus!
The second week of school is well underway…students are settling in, getting accustomed to the rhythm of school again. We are happy to welcome our grade 8’s and new students to our school as well as the students we know from previous years.
Also a warm welcome to all our amazing teachers and support staff. We are happy to have you with us.
And lets not forget our custodians, who make sure the school is ready for learning every day.
And last but not least: welcome to all our parents, grandparents and guardians.
Thank you for allowing us to each your children.
We invite you and all community members to drop by for a Greet & Meet at our Open House on September 28th, from 5:00 – 7:00.
A new school year is always full of promise and new opportunities, and this year is no different. We are looking forward to all the new challenges and opportunities that will come our way and we will keep you up to date on this website and with newsletters.
Also: we encourage you to get in touch with us at any time, Monday to Friday, while school is in session, to discuss your child’s progress or to address any concerns you might have. We can be reached at: (250) 842-5214
It takes a village to raise a child!
Today a small fire was set in one part of the school.
The fire was contained in the east wing of the school.
Our Fire Emergency Protocol was activated and all students and staff were safely escorted out of the building.
Fire attended the scene and Ambulance was called as an precaution.
No injuries were reported.
The students will be sent home for the remainder of the day.
Busses have been called and as soon as they are there, the students will be going home.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call the school.
However, since were are dealing with the aftermath of an emergency situation, we hope you understand if there is any delay addressing your issues.
We all hear about Internet Safety on an almost daily basis.
From cyber bullying to internet scams; from sexting to cyber privacy, most of us are directly or indirectly confronted with the safety and dangers of the internet
To make our students aware of these, and more topics regarding internet safety, there will be a workshop on Monday, April 3rd, from 1-3 pm.
Students and staff are encouraged to bring their devices, as they will be used to demonstrate safety features.
There will be a similar session for parents from 6:30-8:30 pm in the HSS Library.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided.
