I am a Metis mother of 5 children. I am the eldest of 9 siblings born in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. I started my career as a Police Officer in Saskatoon Saskatchewan which quickly led me to see the support that at-risk youth needed so I became an educator in 1985 after completing SUNTEP (Saskatchewan Urban Native Teachers Education Program). I worked as a teacher with at-risk youth from 1985-2003. Our family moved to Terrace in December 2003 following my husband’s providing dental services to northern BC. I continued my education obtaining a master’s degree in leadership in 2004, and Clinical Counselling in 2009. In 2004, I began working as Principal at Parkside Secondary School until June 2017, continuing with a Counselling business and Principal at Gitsegukla Elementary School till 2023. And now I’m here! The rest continues to be history!
