We just wanted to say a few things regarding the recent news surrounding our communities. We want to remind everyone that we take the safety of our students very seriously. During this pandemic, we take our lead from Northern Health. As it stands at this moment, we have not received any information that would lead to a change in the status of Hazelton Secondary School. Should that change, we want to assure parents that we will share that information with the concerning parties. Please remember that while it is important to share information, people’s privacy is also important and we have to be sure to respect that, as well.
I will remind people that if there are any COVID related questions, please feel free to contact us at the school and leave a message. We have someone checking those messages daily and you will get a call back.
We understand that this is a stressful time, especially with the holidays approaching with the restrictions that exist. It may not be a perfect system, but there are a lot of people who are working very hard to ensure the best decisions are being made to maintain the safety of everyone, including the families of HSS.
We thank everyone for their patience and we look forward to a time when life will go back to normal and we can get back to the things in life that are important to us.
